Category Manager Paper Products


About the company:

Our client is a Belgian company created in 1796. Based in Turnhout, they specializes in high quality diaries, calendars, writing pads and photo albums. Besides their own products, they own and distribute several brands with a strong history like Moleskine (notebooks and diaries) and Maverick (leather goods).

To further optimize the existing markets for their own products in Benelux and France and to further strengthen their position as market leader, they are currently looking for a Category Manager Paper Products.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You manage the beating heart of the organization: the diaries, calendars and notebooks.

  • In this role you are the driving force behind the entire process: product design and concept creation with external partners, coordination with internal production, price positioning, sales support, etc.

  • You follow trends and market evolutions as a basis for a continuous analysis, development, renewal and optimization of your product categories.

  • You enthuse the sales teams for your product range: both in the Retail channels (BtoC) and for the Business Gifts (BtoB).

  • You create visibility for your products at the point of sale and through social media.

  • The profitable growth of your product range is your responsibility.

  • You are supported by the entire organisation and report to the Marketing Manager.

 

Profile:

  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset with a planned and analytical approach to defining opportunities and turning them into a success story.

  • You have a passion for beautiful and functional products and a hands-on approach and a no-nonsense SME mentality.

  • You have a higher education in Economics/Marketing as well as experience as Product/Category Manager.

  • You speak Dutch and have French and English speaking and writing skills.

  • You have a good knowledge of the common Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

  • Experience in digital marketing is an asset.
